Tim and Denise are involved full time in a wide range of insurance services that specialize in all form of horse and cattle related coverages and property and liability protection for horse owners, breeders, trainers as well as equine organizations and associations. They have a comprehensive and current knowledge of the horse industry from their personal interest and involvement in the industry. They have a multifaceted experience in breeding, raising, showing and racing horses over the past decades plus decades of sales management (auctions).

 

Tim and Denise both have a real passion and love for people, horses and cattle and as a result, they are entwined in protecting this unique lifestyle. Their move from Ohio to Georgetown, KY, in mid-2009 is now accelerating and broadening their personal and business interest to include the sport horse breeds. This has created enormous contacts and exposure with increasing high-profile events at the Kentucky Horse Park and the Horse Capital of the World.

 

They sponsor many events and facilities across the USA, including the newly expanded International Equestrian Center (formerly Roberts Arena). 

 

Background and Experience

 

Tim Folck

 

Tim was raised on a purebred dairy farm (Chester Folck & Sons Jersey Cattle) developing the dedication and work ethic from milking, feeding, caring for and showing world-class cattle. He also managed herd production sales including the Folck Classic sale (52 years). He was involved with 4-H and FFA. His father (Blair) and grandfather (Chester) were instrumental in guiding Tim as the oldest son and grandson in the successful family dairy business, which included state and national showing honors. Tim graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree earned through the pre-veterinary medicine curriculum at The Ohio State University. Bill Tyznik (Tiz Whiz Feeds) was his college counselor who pushed him to be involved in various organizations (Alfa Gamma Rho- agriculture fraternity, Boot & Saddle, etc.). In 1969, Tim decided to join his father in partnership with the National Quarter Horse Sales, a managerial company of the spring and fall Tattersall Sales in Lexington, KY. He also assisted in the All American Quarter Horse Congress (founded by Blair in 1967) held every October in Columbus, Ohio. The Folcks originate the Congress Super Sale, the premier and select sale for top show Quarter Horses attracting more than 5,000 prospective buyers. Tim managed the David James Dispersal Sale in 2006 at Heritage Place, OK, where the Quarter Horse leading sire Invitation Only sold for $2.35 million.

 

In 2009, after four decades of success with National Equine Sales and The Folck Agency in Springfield, Ohio, Tim relocated his insurance business to Lexington, KY, to provide a higher level of expert service under Folck Insurance (affiliated with Marnitz & Associates). Tim is the father of three children, all college graduates; Tiffany McGinnis, Jeff Folck, and Ryan Folck. He’s also the grandfather of three: Miranda, Abigail, and Thomas McGinnis. Tim and Denise Harvey were married in 1994 and have a great personal and combined business relationship due to their equally shared passion for horses and people.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Denise Folck

 

Denise was also raised on a dairy farm and family cash crop enterprise (Harvey Brothers Farms). She learned the necessity of hard work and commitment as the oldest daughter. Her father, Earl, and his brothers thrived with their diverse and business savvy land investments and crop production in the Western MD and Southwest Florida. Unfortunately, Earl was killed in a tragic truck accident when she was 22, and she had to take control in helping raise her youngest sister, Bobbie Harvey Dunn. They always rode horses and became active in showing Quarter Horses in the early 1980s. She became closely acquainted with best friends and trainer Darlene Beesley, who is out of Darlene Trein (Dan and Darlene Trein of Trein Training Center). They were showing Quarter Horses most every weekend.

 

Bobbie was runner-up in the AQHA Amateur Hunt Seat Equitation in 1996. Denise met Tim at the Tom Powers Futurity in 1993, and they were married the next year. Their teamwork has led to both the horse sales and insurance agency o rise to even greater levels of achievement. Denise has continued to show with more success including the 1993 Quarter Horse mare Skipafied that earned more than 400 points in seven events. Recently, she’s limited her own showing to concentrate on helping her nephew, Walker Dunn, showing Hereford cattle, and her niece, Reagan Dunn, who is starting to show Quarter horses.
